Selling your Pies
Your pies will only sell if people know about the delightful treats, your customers won’t assume you have them. Leading up to the holiday season stock your merchandising freezer with shelves of pies and keep them stocked. Fully stocked freezers are more attention-grabbing, and make the pies appear more popular and attractive. Your customers will want to jump on the ice cream pie trend if it looks like everyone else is.
Advertise your pies on your menus, in your windows, on social media, and anywhere else you’re visible.
Once you’ve mastered the tasty basics and built a following, experiment with new colors, techniques, and toppings for eye-catching holiday pies.
Tips & Tricks
- You can use store bought pie crust or make your own
- Store your pies in a freezer and let them temper for about 5-10 minutes before serving
- Pies will stay good for up to 8 days wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in a freezer (still edible after 8 days but quality of pie will lessen over time)
- Run your knife under some warm water and dry off before cutting into your pie for easier and cleaner slices
- Make sure ice cream is soft enough to spread before placing it on the crust to better assemble the pie
